“From Protest to Progress: Business Empowerment Since Stonewall”
Fort Lauderdale, FL – June 9, 2025 — The Greater Fort Lauderdale LGBT Chamber of Commerce, in proud partnership with the Stonewall Inn Gives Back Initiative (SIGBI), announces a landmark fireside chat featuring Stacy Lentz and Kurt Kelly, Co-Owners of the iconic Stonewall Inn NYC. The event, “From Protest to Progress: Business Empowerment Since Stonewall,” is set for Thursday, June 12, 2025, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at The Greater Fort Lauderdale LGBT Visitors Center & Chamber Member Offices, 2300 NE 7th Ave, Wilton Manors, FL 33305.
This signature Pride Month event aligns with the City of Wilton Manors Stonewall PRIDE Street Festival & Parade and is produced in partnership with HotSpots Magazine and the Happening Out Television Network. Generous support is provided by the Better Business Bureau of Southeast Florida, Love Spirit Brands USA, and Aunt Jenn's Tea and Spice.
Far beyond treating inclusion as just a “corporate requirement,” this powerful evening will highlight how LGBTQ+ businesses and leaders create authentic, lasting change. Stacy Lentz and Kurt Kelly will share their unique perspectives and lived experiences helming The Stonewall Inn—an international symbol of LGBTQ+ activism and progress—discussing how protest has evolved into empowerment, and why embracing diversity is the true driver of innovation and success in business.
Guests will experience inspiring conversation and receive actionable insight on building inclusive organizations where people feel truly welcome, valued, and powerful because of who they are. Reflections on the legacy of Stonewall and its ongoing impact on economic and social empowerment. Real-life stories of community building and overcoming adversity. Concrete strategies for businesses and allies to create welcoming environments—showing that diversity is a source of strength, inspiration, and innovation
“This event reinforces that inclusion is not a checkbox, but the foundation of our collective progress,” said Jason Nunez, President/CEO of the Greater Fort Lauderdale LGBT Chamber of Commerce. “We're honored to collaborate with SIGBI and major community partners to bring this conversation to South Florida during Pride Month.”
Be part of a transformative Pride Month event and discover how the spirit of Stonewall continues to drive meaningful progress for business, community, and beyond!
